Alternative engagement to encourage learning and development through music and creativity.
Heavy Sound makes learning work for marginalised groups. We primarily work with young people who have experienced trauma or barriers to meaningful experiences, helping to re-engage through innovative projects using hip-hop and rapping, song writing, DJ’ing, making beats/music production, instrumental work & more, as well as using lived experience mentoring. We focus on prevention and early intervention, offering a range of bespoke services which can be tailored to suit individual and group needs. The projects teach new skills whilst addressing issues around confidence, self-esteem and wellbeing by exploring self expression in a fully supported environment.
