Heavy Sound are very happy and excited to announce the continuation of the Community Orientated Opportunity Learning ‘COOL’ Music Project in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian Universty.
The project will once again focus on the inclusion and development of young people who have faced significant barriers in life, using music as a tool to build positive relationships and create opportunities for growth. The academic research will continue to be collected by our partners at Glasgow Caledonian University & the Yunus Centre for Social Business & Health, studying the projects impact on aspects of participants well-being, reengagement during & beyond activities, as well as benefit to people who have had Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) those who are isolated and multiply deprived communities.
Look out for some very exciting future announcements in regards to the project and how we are scaling up, plus new partnerships.
The project has once again been funded by the European Social Fund & Scottish Government and will allow us to scale up our activities significantly through 2019 - 2020.
‘COOL’ Music Stage 3 is the next next phase of our stage 2 project delivered between 2017/18. The research gathered during that project was fed back to Government and is now being used to inform social policy.
